These are digital illustrations I have done for pleasure and for clients.
This is a digital illustration I did using Corel Painter. Two playful koi fish in a Pisces style composition with fallen cherry blossoms falling in the water.
This was a test drive on a graphics tablet I received. It was done using COREL painter. This was very labor intensive, but the results are considerable.
This is an image I did for a company in Littleton, Co called Wishcuit. The photo is of a dog named Kane who had passed from cancer. The owner organized a brew tour to raise funds towards research for a cure for dog cancer. I ended up cropping in close on the eyes for the poster I did for the customer.
This is an illustration of sushi I did using Adobe Illustrator. I used the 3d tool to create the plate, gradients for the background, seaweed, and sushi. I also used the roughen tool to create the texture on the rice. The flowers are stock in Illustrator, and the wine was also created using the 3d tool.
Elephant on lotus flowers
This was an image made for a customer who wanted a tattoo of a sleeping pink elephant resting on lotus flowers. I used Illustrator to create one lotus and turned it into a symbol, then I used the symbol gun to adjust the size to make some appear up close, and others father away.
I adjusted a photo of my friend into grey scale, then used Corel Painter to paint the crab in several bright blue hues.
Tattoo Style Baby Shower Invitation
This was a design I illustrated for a customer who wanted a baby shower invitation done in a tattoo style. I used Adobe Illustrator for the vector work, but I have omitted the customers info for the sake of privacy.
Tasty Pop Vintage Ad
I have always loved the old retro ads for products. This was inspired by the old intermission commercials they played during the movies back in the day. the old "Let's go out to the lobby" song was in my head while I was making this ad.
Russian Pit Bull for the Olymics
This is a piece done in Adobe Illustrator. I used the gradient mesh tool to create this charming pit bull in traditional Russian garb. The pattern on his shoes and scarf were created using the pattern tool.
An illustration for a sandwhich company.
This is a comical illustration ( not a serious logo, hence the content material). This is a make believe company that I wanted to make a logo for. I used Illustrator for the entire illustration.
This is another illustration done in Photoshop. I used a black background, and brushes to create the graphics.
I created this illustration using Apples app the Art Board on my Mac. This is a test logo, but I am looking to make it more....dignified. This is the first concept.
This is a digital illustration of a haunted graveyard done exclusively in Adobe Photoshop. I used a bright green gradient and some brushes to create this fun but terrifying scene.
Black Widow study
This is a digital illustration of a black widow I created for an Android game. The spider was illustrated in all cardinal directions and everything in between.
Web & Print Advertisement for Anniversary Party
This was an ad created for Ponty Bistro in NY for their 8th Anniversary. The anniversary was for a brunch so I used an appropriate image to set the expectations on the food, and used white transparent block out over the wine glass to ensure readability of the text details. The out of focus image keeps the text as the visual focal point, and the food as a secondary focal point.
Web Advertisement for Endless Mimosa Event
This was another image created for Ponty Bistro in Ny. The event featured endless mimosas for $20, not a bad deal. I used the color scheme of their webpage to make a modern "flat" style poster to fit the current trends of today.
Pond Installation Ad
I built a pond once, and I had a blast doing it! This inspired me to build a non traditional trifold 2 page brochure for a pond installation company. The entire ad is 5.5 inches across and 8.5 inches tall. The cover entices the reader to open and see what the company is all about. Once you open the brochure, a small flap on the right side of the second page is folded over so you can read about the company, when the fold is open, you see images of different family members enjoying the pond. This helps the reader to imagine their own family owning a pond, and encourages them to do business with this entity. Click on the image to see the inside panels.
Flyer for Fall Festival (Brunder Internship)
I was given complete freedom to do a flyer for BRUNDER'S Fall event. I chose an Acorn and an earth tone color palate. The end result is almost monochromatic, and it's typography stimulates the eye and engages readers about the event.
Fall Food Festival Flyer for Brunder
This is a flyer that was done for my internship with BRUNDER. The event was for a food truck and beer tasting event. The original poster didn't have a wow factor, the color palette wasn't appropriate for the event, and some design choices showed opportunity for the original designer.
The company owner wanted something with a wow factor so I looked at some examples online and decided on a fall theme. I love to think outside the box and not go for the obvious, but there are some exceptions. Although the leaves are a reoccurring and popular theme, I wanted to "float" white text above the leaves. I did this by choosing pure white, adding a drop shadow. I further pushed the text off the page using a heavier saturation in PhotoShop and then adding a very subtle grey tint behind the white text. Food and beer mugs were used instead of traditional bullets and ornaments.
Fall Beer and Food Festival Add Version 1
This is an advertisement idea I did for my internship with BRUNDER. This was one of 3 ideas I pitched for a Fall Event flyer. I used a pattern sample that had leaves ( to hint at Fall without being obvious) and I used some Wing Ding characters instead of bullets to add character to the list shown in the example. I chose a distressed rustic font to suggest the leaves changing, and the texture of the trees in the Fall.
This was done using Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
Purple Ghost Poster for Halloween Goings On
This was a volunteer project I did for the Manitou Heritage Center in Colorado Springs, Co. I added a purple saturation, and ghost image to a picture of some steps (royalty free provided from a college). After the image was optimized for print, it was placed in Adobe In Design and the text and logos were added. The final product was edited by a college, and some smaller adjustments were added to the logos.
All of these are products designed for specific types of businesses.
This is a list of different red wines. This was made with the intentions of being used as a reference to flavor notes and pairings. The photo was optimized in Photoshop, and the body copy was done using InDesign.

Diversity Training Ad
This was an ad I created for a fictitious diversity training company using Adobe In Design and Adobe Illustrator.
Waverly Hills Asylum Magazine Spread
Waverly Hills is one of the most interesting haunted locations in America. They give ghost tours, and I wanted to make a magazine spread that could be featured in a magazine targeted at the demographic of those who believe in such things.
This was a second draft of a magazine spread I had made focusing on the Waverly Hills Asylum.
The Undead Digest
This is a magazine written for zombies...by zombies. Exciting topics include "how not to be hit in the head" to "how so slow down decomposition". A must read for anyone who has broken through the earth.
From Vine to Table
This is a fictitious book cover I created for a book that explains how to make your own wine.
This is a mockup of a traditional 3 panel brochure I did of Thailand. I wanted to capture the essence of Thailand by putting something of a symbolic nature on the front. Most designers may think of coconuts, elephants, or Buddah when designing a cover. These are all great ideas, but again there are other things to consider. I chose the Tuk Tuk since most of our vacationers will be using a tuk tuk to site see and get around town. They are iconic in Thai movies, and native to the Thai culture. I highlighted some other significant sites in Thailand throughout the brochure such as the river market, temples, etc. See the next image for the inside 3 panels!
Thailand Brochure (inside panels)
Here we have the inside panels of our Thailand brochure. Again, the intent was to draw in folks who want to visit Thailand. In the upper left we have images of a woman on a balcony of a small Thai cottage (located riverside). Food is brought by boat to visitors, so I wanted to highlight this! We also have a temple, and a gorgeous scent of the cityscape accentuated by flowers along the bottom. I brought some of the pink flowers into the title to help blend the earth tone color palette into the brochure. The Lantern festival is also very popular and to add interest and break up the text, I used Photoshop to bring some lanterns out into the body copy. I also brought an elephant into the bottom to highlight the rides in Thailand, not so much to play a cultural stereotype. The columns are separated by columns and highlight other exciting activities.
Postcard for the American Heart Association
This is a post card made to entice folks to attend the American Heart Association's Gala. It involves dancing, silent auctions, and dinner. This image shows the front and back of the post card.
American heart Association Gala Self Mailer
In order to cut costs down, this is an envelope that opens up and is the actual invitation itself. The 4 folds would come down and be sealed with a sticker, hot wax, or a gold seal. Once opened, the details are inside for the event.

This is a box created to hold some baseball cards I designed for a local team here in Colorado Springs. I used Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Indesign to complete the process.

Brochure for a card manufacturing company
This is a brochure created in Indesign and Illustrator. this was to display the the prices of the different products. The front shows an eye catching logo, card, and a visual hierarchy is created that leads the reader into the brochure to see the different styles available,
Rookie Phenom-Inside Brochure
This is the inside of the brochure. I used the Adobe creative suite for this as well. I displayed the front and back of each style, gave each style a name, and used dotted strokes to separate the different cards so it was easier for the reader to decipher the fronts and backs. All photos were optimized prior to placing. I also incorporated the grass from the cover into this photo, and a suggestion of a mitt can be seen in between the photo. All the styles correspond with the order form (available to view in this gallery).
Here are some logos I have done so far.
Sakura Day Spa
There are 3 different designs for the same logo. The black and white is made for printed two tone documents such as letter head, bags, envelopes, etc. The middle is more of a traditional corporate logo, and the third (bottom right) is meant to attract more of a female teen/young women demographic.
McGhee Banquet Hall Final concept
This was the final concept for the McGhee Banquet hall. I wanted to use a branding iron to pay homage to the state of TX, and I used a traditional western type font and added distress to the final image.
This is a logo I created for a fictitious winery using Adobe Illustrator.
Logo for McGhee Banquet Hall in TX
These were concept ideas for the McGhee's banquet hall in TX.
This is a logo I created for a magazine in Florida called Nurbanu (ner-ban-you). Since it was aimed at a predominantly female demographic, and urban life, I wanted to emphasize the word "urban" in gold, and the other letters in blue. The customer requested that we stay with a blue and gold theme, this satisifed all the requirements of the client while staying true to the theme of the website and demographic.
Power Point presentation for non-profit organization.
This is on of many slides used to create an infographic for a non profit company. The original presentation was text heavy and I was assigned to redesign it. My thought process was to use infographics since the convey data in a more immersive way than just reading large amounts of text.
This is a pasta infographic created for Brunder.com. This illustrates some interesting facts about pasta ina fun and colorful way.

Hand Drawn Illustrations
I've always loved Autumn. This illustration is a simple play on trading acorns with pumpkins.
Asylum (part 1)

This is an illustration of a flesh-coffee cup. The purpose is to show the effects of caffeine as it is known to dilate blood vessels and raise one's heart rate.
We all know that leaves change in Fall. I wanted to use this idea and apply it to some bamboo that is coming undone. When you look at bamboo, it almost looks like little sections you can pull apart. I tied all of these concepts into one cohesive illustration.
I'm a huge fan of the slasher films. This is a pencil drawing of Halloween's Michael Meyers. the black was etched in with vine charcoal.
Undead (part 1)
This is a study of a zombie coming up out of his grave. This was done in charcoal and white conte crayon.

I wanted to take something macabre and add humor and color to it. I drew an undead character using the complimentary colors purple and green.
This is a graphite illustration I did a while ago while working in a restaurant. There was a business man who came in frequently and he didn't have the best character. I wanted to draw an analogical illustration of him as a corporate flower. His spine is the stem of the flower, pencils through the spine with post it notes impaled on the end double as leaves, and several ties play the role of petals. His big mean head the stamen of course.

Kids book illustration
This was a female turtle I sketched out for a kids book illustration.
Just a drawing on a play on words. Finger Snail ( finger nail).
This drawing is to show that honesty is the best policy. It plays on the term a "fish tale" where some folks may embellish, lie, or over exaggerate real events.
I worked at a popular family dining establishment for a long time. I remember out of my 4 years there, they actually only deep cleaned the coffee pots once. The history of cleanliness inspired this drawing. I used some real coffee in addition to brown water colors for the coffee.

This is a playful drawing of a book on a table with someone/something lurking beneath.
These two spheres represent a bad relationship between two people. The original artwork has super glue for the tears.
Mankind and nature
This image is meant to combine nature and mankind in hopes one day we will stop destroying our environment. A honeycomb is inside the hand of a human while sun flowers take in some rays.

Jack Frost nipping at your nose
I wanted to draw Jack Frost in the image of a pumpkin snowman. Here we see him chasing after children and another snowman.
Jelly Fish mating

Kids book illustration
I applied for a freelance job to do some kids book illustrations. The author wanted a pleasant goose and a stubborn rabbit. These were my submissions.

The great escape
A potted plant trying to attack the pot that holds it back. This was done in water color and pencil.
In the age of the millennial, it seems like kids are growing up with less respect and a lack of ethics. This could be blamed on parenting, society, or a nature versus nurture issue. This represents a little lass who is off to a bad start.

This is an analogical drawing of a man who is passionate about architecture. When someone is passionate about something so much, it runs through their veins.
The corpse father
Fan art from the Nightmare Before Christmas.
More fan art from the Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Thinker rated pg13
I love the image of the thinker. Usually the man is just leaning forward with one elbow on his knee while in deep thought. I wanted to draw what might happen "next", as if he were in a comic book. This is our thinker after he has ripped an lightbulb out of his skull. This shows him realizing his idea and making it materialize.
This was another play for the eyes. I wanted people to question if the fish was floating or if she was in fact under water and the cactus were just decorations in a tank. It's up to you.

This is a creature who found a pin wheel. It was so intrigued that time passed by and plants began to ensconce the being.
A little bit of discord
When a vast majority of artists draw, they draw the same cliche things ( I am guilty myself). Usually plants, fruits in baskets, landscapes, etc. I wanted to draw something "Hallmarky" and then add something off kilter. I chose an atom bomb off in the distance.
Character study #1
This is a parody of a popular video game character. I altered him buy giving him a kilt.
